Lols, resuree, it was raining heavily just now and later i review. i haven finish reviewing this one yet.

On the back passenger's seat, you can only wind down the window until halfway, shown in the picture, thats the maximum it can go. Salesman alasan? , for children's safely. okok saya faham.

the other pic is just an overview of the whole car when its all open up. looks big doesn't it?

Well so far, the interior is considerably OK LAH for rm38k. cannot say much about it. little defects here and there. some part also not align properly like the unique head lamp. left and right not balance punya.

Going to write on the test drive part next. *grin*

The Test Drive

Sunfire had a go first on the car, i was sitting beside the driver's seat. Its comfortable, the seats are not too low. I would say its stable on turns. sunfire drove a round and back to the showroom.

I asked the salesman, "boleh test airbag kah?"
salesman:" ahah perlu bayar nanti"
i said : kacau tak cuba, maciam mana tauk airbag bagus"
salesman: =_=

Ok my turn to drive. Its a manual car btw. I got on to the driver's seat and it started to rain. =_=. okok good also rain can test more.

Steady steady.. reverse gear. Hmm not bad .. i like the feel of the gear and clutch. 1st gear okay.. trying to get use to the whole feel.

Then when i was trying to get out to the main road. 1st gear, trying to blast my way into the main road.
VRooooooommm~~~~~~~~~!!!.... (did i get into wrong gear)
shift to free gear again, then shift back to 1st gear

Verommmmmmmmm~~~~~!!!.. ( ??? WHY LIKE THAT !!)
from that i notice, the car has lousy pickup power.

I shift from 1st to 2nd gear.. still not much power. 3rd gear still no power. .. 4th gear is just neutral driving.. so no comment on it.

It was raining heavily while i was driving. my side mirrors were totally blinded by rain and I can't see anything.

I made roundabout turns and the car was ok ah i would say stable and good.

I made it back to the showroom SAFELY. IT was still raining . I tried to open the door, just 2mm open. the rain started gushing in from the tiny edges on top. fuhyoo.. got wet there and so as the car.

conclusion, i would rather get a perodua kenari or myvi.

Car review

Pros
1) Nice design
2) Good sound proofing (maybe I am used to Kenari 3 cylinder engine noise, Sutera is 4 cylinder)
3) Light power steering
4) Good ceiling height (so much better than Savvy)
5) Affordable
6) Average ride and handling
7) Easy gear change

Cons
1) Poorly fitted body parts (visible to naked eye)
2) Low quality trims and plastics
3) Weird looking ashtray (made of plastics)
4) Super duper slow pickup (floored the gas on 1st gear, but RPM only reach 4K. Salesman explaination - VIRGIN... my opinion, lousy engine)
5) Low torque, slow power shift to the wheel, especially when u need it the most
6) Undercarriage is not painted with anti-rust paint
7) The aircond knobs are soo hard to turn
8) Power window switch is flimsy
9) Rear window roller comes off if you wind it too fast or pull it too hard
10) Low quality carpeting, soo thin.

My conclusion is, for a Manual transmission 1.1L car, It's better to get yourself a Savvy or Myvi or Picanto. Paying the RM5K diff will give you a lot more comfort, quality and resale value.

If you think Proton has low quality car, wait till you see, drive and test the Sutera.

p/s: Atos may have slow pickup, Sutera is just like what they said, SILK WORM.

But then again, overall it's an average car. Give them a chance, I am sure they will improve. What can you expect from a Chinese-designed car.

After my bad experience with my family buying a Proton Tiara (lastime RM30k, now still cannot sell out to second hand though price only RM5000, heard the car seller say sometimes have to pay the customer to buy Tiara), I think how good a car ,is, judge by its second hand resale value. If the car still good second handprice, then the car either is because good quality, or a lot of people demand for it. & ALSO, if the outside appearance looks very nicer then Tiara or Savvy, then should be okay la. Kuching a lot of experience car shop can help people beautify the interior of the car one. it is the exterior that makes people impress or depress. . .

most of the stuff i mentioned was about "BAD workmanship" or "Bad manufacturing" or "quality control problem".

I would still buy the car even if there is manufacturing defects. can always fix those stuff or mod the car like you said.

but the real problem was the engine is lousy. the car has no pickup power, 3 of us were inside the car. the salesman, me and sunfire.

i wonder if it can drive up to the wisma saberkas parking lot. probably will burn lots of fuel

I test drive the Savvy long time ago.

I find Savvy's quality is soo much better compared to Sutera.

One thing with Savvy is the European spare parts, it's hard to find spare parts for it later.

This could be the 1st batch of Sutera. Hopefully they will fix the problem.

Actually Savvy engine second batch one all change to Semi-Auto, which is astonishingly good. Just that i anti the waja butt & the back side window looks "why so like that". . . for sutera, ya lo, bad pick up is a big problem. means I can't put in 15/16 inch wheels. hopefully the engine trouble can be fix la.
