I heard the lake is polluted by arsenic and cannot use it for recreational activities. So sad...i know the water is very clear and nice so sad cannot be used for recreational activities. I also heard the lake is pretty deep.

Can't the lake be cured?

just install a giant Elken water filter or Diamond water filter pump there and let it running for 2 years. hiak hiak

they claim to be able to filter out arsenic and metal from water

Tasik Biru is a man make lake, more than 100 years ago, Chinese miners come from Kalimantan to mine gold. In early 20 century or early the lake is flooded with water. That time, they didn't have pump, so all the mining activity stop.

According to folk tale, the hill beside the lake is the earth dig from the lake.

In 80's they started mining again at a site near the lake. Later, they found that the gold deposits in the lake are more than the surface. So, in 91 they started pump the lake water. If I remember correctly they started mining in the lake about 92 or 93. During pumping the water, it has cause the surround land to collapse. The sign still can be see at the temple next to the lake.

Make me feel old telling all this.

hah now that clears up the puzzle
didn't know the lake was dug more than 100 years ago.
wonder if they found any artifacts. hiak hiak

another thing i heard was, the reason they gave up the digging was because they hardly find any gold... the real gold lies underneath bau town.
