that's because sometimes if it's not this same group of those people getting the job, the job will never be done on time. due to red tape. the same type of red tape that can be lubricated away.

FYI, my dad told me the project has been launched long time ago. It is just announced public. The construction is going half way now.

It will be only two minutes from the Kuching International Airport (KIA) and 10 minutes from Kuching City centre.
The terminal will be streamlining the city bus transportation system by bringing together the regional buses and the city buses.
Daily express buses to and from regional centres like Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah, Bintulu, and Miri as well as daily express buses from Pontianak (Indonesia) and Sungai Tujuh (Brunei) will be available, making Kuching Sentral an international transportation hub.

Good news for Kuchingites and travellers alike. Hopefully they will have a transport system (LRT or BRT) that connect Kuching Sentral and KIA.

Even better if they set-up airlines check in counters at the Sentral. It will be a convenience for connecting passenger to reach KIA without having to worry about their luggage handling.

On that note, it will also be a good idea if they set up a smaller scale terminal in city centre for the same purpose.

Are you sure? Could only see a few excavators and dump trucks in action there leveling the site.

I just hope that they will change the name instead of Kuching sentral coz it seems like a copy version of the KL Sentral ...so as the same as out airport.....

I doubt if they would build an airport check-in facility at the 'bus and taxi' terminus. It's awfully close to the airport, though I suspect to facilitate movement, they might either have shuttle buses between the airport and the Kuching Sentral (I still hate the name).

And true, RM55 million for such a facility is actually a steal. If they want to build it fast, chances are, it is already prefabricated, and if they open it to tender, we might get the same problem as Dayak Plaza, which was opened to tender, three contractors went bust and all...and I wouldn't be surprised if Baron Mango Hair is building this.

Why is our Kuching Sentral not located at the centre of town??? is the 6 1/2 th mile area now the centre of Kuching city?? This is more a regional bus station.

Howabout the pathetic 'station' (if we could call it such) at Jln Masjid?? the other 'station' at the end of india street is being close down for the Plaza Merdeka project.

I think its better to be locate further away from the city. The roads and road direction in the city are just not suitable for any centralized traffic terminal.

The traffic at Electra house and wet market is already very horrifying when the Van Sapu dominate while the big bus parks at the side of road. not to mention the ignorant pedestrians who cross the roads like the path in their own village.

So I think its good that is build out of the city center..
