Where do you get the news from? The Vista Tunku project seems not moving... hopefully they will build it.

I'm very confident that if Tesco and Carrefour is going to set their feet here, they will make profit!

heh I don't bother about Everise. either they develop themselves or they get phased out eventually and naturally.

Carrefour in Vista Tunku? Is the project on hold? I see nothing there, it's just a pile of rusting bars, half-built walls, all hidden behind the barrier.

Nonetheless, the location is alright, it is roughly at the confluence of North and South Kuching, not too far for most to get to, and not to congested as well. Just roughly 5km, from the Tanah Puteh Bridge, past the toll, no big jams or hassles compared to Satok Bridge.

It's not really that far, it's next to the Tanah Puteh bridge, a better alternative to Satok, and Padungan is too crowded as it is. I doubt if Carrefour would locate so near to the city centre where land prices are high and space is at a premium, if they did, we'd see a Carrefour next to KLCC. Vista Tunku is after all a planned township, with wide open spaces.

Keep in mind, while those in South Kuching will think the location is far, those in North Kuching would think it's near. Vista Tunku seems like middle ground for those living in Tabuan and around Petra Jaya.
