Rm 55 million budget, can not expect too much out of it, it going to look as horrible as LLC terminal or more likely same as Pudu bus station. Nothing to shout off, but it is the facilities that we desperately needed.

I think they going the ideal of name from the roof light which looks kind of like KL Sentral :)

rm55,000,000 lei, it's ringgit, not ruppiah. unless also some of the money used for the managing director's transport (a.k.a benz S class complete with all the tits & stuffs). we working people work whole life also will never get 10% of the amount. so it's not a small amount liaw.. oh i get it, maybe when all the foreign construction worker being send back to their original country, the labour cost increased and the rakyat have to pay for these white elephant project by their taxed ringgit.

rm55,000,000 lei, it's ringgit, not ruppiah.

Let us see,
1.LCC cost about rm 108Million, http://www.airasia.com/lcct/terminal.htm

2. KL sentral about rm 3.0bn
http://lamjo.tripod.com/sen.html

I think we will have some ideal how this terminal going to look like, forget about the main contractor sub the project 5 to 10 times to sub-con. ( Which is unavoidable )

Government's project normal over price to make sure the main con have enough profit. That why normal ppl hard to get the project. If you get it properly you are the 3rd or 4th sub contractor already.

Well LCCT costs 100m because you are building an air carrier terminal with many extra things that are needed, and KL Sentral has multiple platforms & railroads extending away from it, and that justifies the "billion" sounds.

Not to say that they are not overpriced (no government projects are not), but 55m budget is good enough for Kuching sentral. I think we can compare our Kuching terminal with the Putrajaya western transport terminal, which are both of roughly same scale (Putra one has landasan for ERL, but no shoppings).

Agreed, it suit local contact. It is a project we badly needed. There is nothing like KL sentral (KL sentral is not perfect either ). It just a bus and taxi terminal, nothing fancy.

nothing fancy which cost rm55,000,000. i think most of us knows how the country operates so far. business have to keep going, just that common people will get "short-changed". unless something changed.

i think the best way is to put the project on tender. why is there no tender? and can the sums be made public? i think thats the best way.. why don't Malaysia adopt this clean and fair attitude?
