Hello, I was wondering did my memory served me wrong or was it real that many years back, there was some kind of open air food court at Saberkas, where the environment is a bit similar to Taman Kereta now. I was a small kid back then, I could associated places wrongly.

On the other hand, I do remember there was this Bukit Mata sort of hawker area, which is a very busy food place at night. I heard they are what Taman Kereta is now, because apparently the stalls moved to this place.

yes ,you're right. no more liao i think. many things offered in the 80's are original and nice. you can even eat turtle eggs for 50 cents at Tiger Garden(now Green Hill) stall near the drain .

I miss all the 70s and 80s of Kuching...
even it looked underdeveloped to most comparable town,
it was peaceful, fresher air. Houses that time had no gate and fences, strong neighborhood watch against theft.
Such atmosphere is completely dying out in mid-90s when development started and running gov vision plans....
ah well...people might have seeked for a better look of city
some prices to pay, some turmoil to go through, some frustrations of traffic congestion...as it will be.

Why is gun death penalty without license in Malaysia? I rather that people can own guns in Malaysia and that will stop the robbing. Guns dont kill people. Its people that kill people!
