Or KK???? national airlines = MasWings? national coat of arms = Hornbill? or Orang Utan? national flower = Rafflesia?? new national anthem and new national flag...

whatever it is, im eager to see the outcome of this...
it would be my pleasure to see how things go... for now, racism is not really a big deal here in srwk, but not in pninsular... what i do care is how are we going to withstand all the possible probs that might occurs... we must have a strong backup to stand against the western gov't... but let say we can get our independence, and unite as a US of borneo... do u think that the kalimantan will join us? but if they do, is it a good idea to have them...? i mean, the indos mind set is really2 differnt to be cmpared to us u know.. there will be a lot of things to be debate sooner of later...

The brooke family? I won't say they have contributed nothing. They have set up a lot of religious schools all around Sarawak. And believe it or not, these schools still rank among the top in the whole of Malaysia.
They built the road networks / rail networks, but the last rail network was dismantled in 1980s (Jalan Keretapi?)? The road network is still largely in used. They established the constitution of which the Sarawak / Malaysia's version was based on. They brought missionary into Sarawak. If not for them, most of the natives would still be in their loincloth, head hunters, fighting among the different tribes. Because of them, the natives received education, their lifestyle improved. Because of the brooks, English is still widely usable in Sarawak. Walk into the government department and start speaking English, nobody would look to you as if they have seen an alien. Was it one of the minister who recently commented that speaking English in the government office felt very odd? Can't remember who. But in Sarawak government office, English is widely usable still. Can't think of anything else. But I think it is the part of the history that we can't change. So be it. Hail to the white rajah ![]()

I think the idea of pulling out of Federation of Malaysia is not new.
PBS attempted it before in 1994 but Sarawak betrayed Sabah in the last minute, plus BN bought a lot of frogs to force most of PBS assemblymen to defect to BN. And before that it was Tun Mustapha (correct me if I am wrong), the first chief minister of sabah threaten to pull Sabah out of Malaysia during his entire tenure being the chief minister.

In terms of economic growth & tertiary education, say... need I repeat more? one more, I noticed vast land in Sarawak was logged recently for some projects. Preservatory conditions are not met, tarnishing homes to many wildlife; therefore, releasing excessive greenhouse gases to the atmosphere. That's suicidal! If this video could alarm those being more conservative! im totally agree for sarawak to be a country itself...
but me myself, as a malay, at the same time is afraid if sarawak changes like s'pore where malay people being discriminate, let alone being poor n poorer... i dont want that to happen in srwk since it's seems like chinese will most likely bcome the head chief if we get our indepndent... the 2nd choices would be melanau... i dont see any great malay leader yet, which is really frustrating... the only that i see that stands up to now is only abg johari...

that's the thing. we are all afraid of being bullied by the majority.
there should be no race-based policies and politics and we are all sarawakians. we must help the poor (giving them some temporal privilege) which does not occur only in one particular race. those who are capable will be leaders regardless of gender, race, religion & etc.
