Strange that the official closing ceremony will be hosted by Sabah, as per The Star today. Not good omen for S'wak....there's a beginning but no end, or ooh thau bo boi!!

Seen this before? This Aug 31 will be 49 years from THIS 1st day cover, the 1st MERDEKA. Sarawak was still ruled by ang moh kia then. Don't think too many of you were around. Neither was I. Borrowed this 1st day cover.

The closing ceremony should always ended up in another state and in another city.

Just like last time I think it was 2000 or 2001 when Sibu was the host for the closing ceremony of the Merdeka month, the King was there, and stayed close to my house, and he was happy and smilling all along the event, but passed away a month or two afterthat :(

I went to the Merdeka parade rehearsal this morning. It was awesome and stunningly colourful.

Love the songs, and the 2000 strong choir team are superbly beautiful. It must be hot under the direct sun lol but it well worth it. Good job. I can't wait to see the actual event.
