Sounds like the pitch they used when they proposed KL Sentral that many years ago. Realistically, a cinema in a mass transit hub? I'm just happy if the bare essentials is there, with a few fringe facilities (read: extras) like a Starbucks, Guardian and a 7-Eleven opens shop there.

Oh yes, and that it's well maintained, clean and actually has enough space for buses, cars, taxis and all the other forms of public transportation. Something basic like Putrajaya's mass transit 'hub' is even good enough.

make sure they can maintain good quality all the times unlike PUDU. even KL Sentral is stuffy as they don't have air-conds.

Saw the presentation in youtube and it was fascinating but I doubt we need another "shopping mall". 2 is not enough? Do we need more of that? Instead of buses and taxis services, why not they offer to built another service on it; the railways for this sentral (we've talk about this is some thread), at least it's a good start between the 3 countries? No?

I wonder if Brunei or Kalimantan got such 'sentral' to tag along with?

Melbourne Central, Sydney Central; so Malaysia has KL Sentral, Putrajaya Sentral, Kuching Sentral. How original; though Kuching Terminus has a nicer, less politicised, less uniform ring to it.

Perhaps they have made provisions for a train-line in this new terminus. Have yet to see construction in full swing, though if I got the exact location right, the groundworks seem to be in progress.

Malaysia and Brunei once proposed a railway linking Miri to BSB and KK, but this was oh so many many years ago. This was before large fossil fuel deposits was found near Limbang. A commuter train around Kuching would suffice but you know the deal: KTMB talks about it but it never materializes.

Hi Mocha, in your previous post (#54), you have mentioned 7-eleven and some other shops will be opened in Kuching Sentral, is that true? Where did you get the info?

Yeah, places like kuching airport or bus terminal need 24 hours convenience store....or something operating 24 hours....that never came into Kuching Airport attention.

ON the post regarding KTMB's talks...u knowlah...these people just cakap song song nia la...they never put things into real one.....i think they just wanna show how ambitious they are...

What happened to Kuching cable car? at Santubong there...silent liao...

Oh, sorry Siamese, I just suggested that it would be ideal to have a 7-Eleven in Kuching Sentral, not that there would be one there, though we'd never know.

Kuching Airport technically doesn't operate 24/7 so a 7-Eleven in the terminal would be a little bit useless. Kuching Sentral though, would be alright, considering the nature of buses and higher business potential
