Got one saying: First generation "tan lui" (earned wealth), second generation "siew lui" (keep wealth), 3rd generation "kai lui" (loses wealth). Become 4th generation "bo lui".

I'm sure there will be yet another circle where we go back to "tan lui"

If you are spending it on something useful & you really like. that's okay (but in Kuching difficult to find something like that :P, just my opinion, unless it's solid wood furniture). If you are spending your own cash, that's okay (If credit card, hmm... you are the lucky 4th generation). If you are working & you are spending something on something you really like. that's super okay...

Solid wood furniture? That's interesting, cause i am really into interior designing and gardening. I guess i am not that bad lah, i work, spend my own money, pay off my credit card bill every month. Just that, some how when i am planning on a trips or want to buy something, i found out that i am low in budget.

Maybe credit card is the source of your grief (or maybe a part of it). I had credit card last time. Useful for buying petrol only. So I cancel it. No effecto my health or anything As for interior design, I am a minimalist, I do not want to buy something that I will throw away after 2 years, so when I buy, I pray my decision is correct & the things can last for a long time.

I totally agree with you. Credit card is the killer. Eventhough i like interior design so much, but i don't spend much on it. My dad used to make all our house furniture. And until today, some of them are still usable.
