from pro-hatch.net. the interior looks so "ta kong". got 8 inch retractable LCD (like in those topend toyota's or european cars), momo sports steering, matching white recaro buckets, etc etc... giving people the wrong impression only. dunno we will ever see it in Sarawak or not. PROTON way of business is totally wrong, good things export to other people country while those defective stuffs keep for own domestic market. Other car maker toyota nissan, honda & even mitsubishi will release their top model in domestic market, get feedback, improve, stabilised then export. proton approach seems the other way round. :bad: think their head got issues la.

That's the thing about me... I am too lazy to write in detail so here goes, in point form.
Car is very nice from outside and the design is just lovely. I love how they style the front and real lamp. Just beautiful compared to Gen2. I guess the car could be better if not for the selling price. Well what can we complain about cause this is supposed to replace the old Satria. 1. You can see the plastic parts used for the dashboard is from different vendor, just the steering set has 4 different colour tones. 2. The glove compartment area (dashboard assembly) is spray painted plastic, meaning you have to be careful with this car cause once scratch, it will show the true black colour underneath. You don't want to see that do you? 3. I still don't understand why a right hand drive car must have signal light and headlamp on the left lever instead of the traditional right handed lever. (Proton is creative I guess minus the ergonomics and user friendliness) 4. The car engine noise can be clearly heard from the inside, a general characteristics for Waja and Gen2. 5. Glove compartment, I think they meant it literally can only fit just a pair of glove. I guess at least it's better than Gen2, where you can't fit anything at all. Still a nice comfortable size glove compartment will do better that this one. Once you press it, it takes 10 secs for it to fully open LOL. Unless you forced open it. Ride 1. 1.3 Liter manual is supposed to have 94 horses in it. But when I test drive the car, it's worst than a Kelisa which has less horsepower. 2. Engine revving is very limited, and it doesn't feel like a sporty hatchback. Not DESIREABLE here. 3. The cockpit is not ergonomic at all, and if you are more than 175cm tall don't bother to get in the car cause you head will reach the ceeling. 4. The ride is a bit noisy when you hit an average sized Malaysian pothole, where you will heard gedup gedup from the tyre and suspension system. 5. It's hard to switch gear, with the high cluctch, its almost impossible to get a fast gearshift. 6. An old Wira still rides better than Neo. Why Proton always limit their design? There is this saying, "If you can provide your best, do it by all means" I won't say no more cause the rest will be just the flaws from the car itself not to mentioned the engine. For 40k-50k range, can't complain much but I rather get myself a MyVi for better comfort and ride. NEO will always has it's own fan, lets hope it will be as successful as the Satria.

wa lau, no momo steering?
![]() ![]() people wanna buy something easy to use. the major asia car maker did not spend so much money & hours to survey & develop an easy to use, human interface system for no reason. It is logic & convenient. seems like Satria will not be replaced so so so soon (from my narrow minded little point of view. kekeke ![]()

If you guys do some research, actually, Proton had long produced their own design in their cars, as such, the old Proton Satria, there is no other car manufacturer in the world that looked like the Satria.
It has a Mitsubishi Lancer CC/CE or whatever head, but they were of different dimension and geometry, then there is the one of a kind rear end and tail lights that you won't see in any of Mitsubishi production models, that's already the high point. The Neo is supposedly a re-defined version of Satria's view, they made it successfully, with a new reborn style like no others. Don't blame them or the side mirrors because it could be easier and cheaper for them to just get the side mirrors from the Waja and fitted in the new car as long as the car has a fresh new look. Don't shout on the engine either, because Proton was never good at producing engines even with whatever claims from their in regards to Lotus's involvement, and Lotus is famous for building a small block with not so much power, but their main aim is to produce a properly balanced car with the very light weight to increase the performance and handling of the car. (except for the older unsuccessful big turbo Lotus engine) Anyway, has anyone tested the 1.6l instead? Should be a lot more fun than the crappy 1.3l

about the costdown by using waja/gen2 parts, wa lau, why the car still so pricy? don't consumer benefit if proton able to costdown? it's like kaki lang eat kaki lang, at least if we buy a foreign car, we can blame foreign car bad. ![]() ![]() My friend tested a Neo at Satok there, he say quite good to run. :P hmmm... better let people test it first before actually throwing money into proton hands.

Hi guys I tested the Satria Neo today tested both the 1.3 and 1.6...well actually the guy ask me to test the 1.6 la. Hahahahahaha...
Ok now for my review..basically looking at the real Satria Neo...hey not bad quite nice and all the design... the interior and all is ok but because I have long legs I can only sit at the front and not the back seat...back seat would be better for children not adult. But I do feel that it is a bot to crampy inside. The body is quite tough...but if you want airbags and all you would have to go for the H-line* *Means Full Specs only for Automatic 1.6 Comparing 1.3 and 1.6 Satria Neo 1.3 Ok now Satria Neo 1.3 is just ok pick up and everything is ok...but I think it is a little bit underpower. Another thing is compared to the 1.6 the 1.3 doesn't have a lot of things. Fuel econimical wise I would think that the 1.6 would be better. But of course the 1.3 is cheaper. Let's just say your going out from a junction the pick up is good. Engine very good also from inside the car it is quite quiet. Stability wise not bad. Nice car to drive oh by the way it is power steering. Absorber good. Satria Neo 1.6 I would buy this car and not the 1.3...reasons. The 1.6 pickup is far better than the 1.3. It has more specs compared to the 1.3 and you just need to add in a few more thousands to get it. Gear shifting is smooth. Powerful compared to the 1.3 and much smoother. Same here very quite engine for Malaysian car standards ok. If you want to drive fast the 1.6 is a better choice. Frankly I think that the 1.6 is far more smoother than the 1.3. Breaking systems for both version are good...OBVIOUSLY new car wa...hahaha Overall the 1.6 is better than the 1.3...more power ...felt that it was more fuel efficient...better than Gen 2 THE FUNNY STORY This is sort of embarassing for me to say but hey I think it was kinda funny. I tested the Satria Neo 1.3 first before the 1.6 so before I got to test drive it my friend drove it first and before us someone test drove it too so they was like no more fuel inside when we drove the car there warning light for low fuel was on...by the time I drove the car...you guys can guess what happen NO MORE FUEL AND THE CAR WENT DEAD LOL...so embarassing and it was like I stopped in the middle of the junction and was not far from the showroom LOL OMG that was really really embarassing and the sales person kept on apologising to us well actually me cause I was the one who was driving it. Well guys my opinion on Satria Neo is that it is not a bad car to drive. Suitable for young people and must get the 1.6 Grading for Proton Satria Neo: 8/10 possible marks ** btw when the car is low in fuel the air-cond is damn hot but when there is sufficient fuel it is damn cold
