i have a broken IXUS40 LCD screen...
i was told by Canon marketing to send it to them and it will take at least 1-2month to repair and i cant wait that long since rainforest festival 2006 is just around the corner if u know what i mean...

does any1 here knows any decent specialist camera shops in kuching that can repair my Ixus40?...

i know the parts needed for replacement(which is the LCD) and i even know the parts number... if the shop could order just the LCD screen from their supplier and repair it locally, it would be much better then to send it to K.L or Singapore for repair which would take a longer time..

warranty expired oledi, so if i sent it to Canon, they would probably still charged me with a high service charge..so better off sending it to a local shop...

thanks...

thanks ceaser...
went to impress studio this morning...
they quoted me rm250(just the lcd) and rm380 if they do it for me all and all with guarantee...

for me, rm380 is considerably cheap...cos i love my IXUS40 very much... took many great snapshots....i'd never change to a different brand than Canon cos its so user friendly...

btw, i read thru a few consumer complain websites in the net, most of them claim that Canon lcd screen is quite fragile compared to other brands..
so if u have a canon urself, or any of ur friends, i advise u guys to take care of u Canon digicam extra careful...even the thick leather case is insufficient to protect the screen....

i tried Olympus (lousy customer service- did not repair my camera but say already repair #@W^%&*). so i never support that brand again. now i use canon, so far so good.
