I think this year's celebration should be much bigger and merrier.

Anyway we are the host are we not?

I will try to drive pass and see what is going on at the padang later.

I wish they will have other events besides the annual one that we see. I wonder if there is any big military parade and jets flyby over the padang. I would love to see ppl parachuting down also. Lets cross your fingers.

It's not as easy as you said, to book a room in Merdeka Palace, before you even try to go and book one now, it should be all booked out by the ministers, YB, YBB, BBBBB, YYYYATTTHHSBBB etc etc

Unless you stay in for the whole week until 31 Aug and refused to check out, probably, yes :)

Hooligans...wooo, I know who they are, but we shouldn't say it out, cause they are sensitive people riding on scooters and bikes :) it can get as bad starting the night before 31st :p , where should you be for the 2 days? Stay at home or run away from the city to escape being hurt.

Well you do have to bOok in advance. like any other hotels. if you wanna "select" your rooms. unless you jst wanna get drunk in there then any room will do.

2 days? haaaa... I have seen them "practicing" few nites ago...

In any National Day celebration, there would be Military parade, army troop parade, tank parade (to show off the national defense -which is no big at all ), bands parade, national car parade, etc, and air force will make a show as well. It's common.

There is a big stage in the centre of Padang right now. Could it be for the choir?
