Scoop! is opposite Hilton. Its relatively new and its like an ice cream parlor. They ice cream is low fat and you can have it in a cup, in a float or with alcoholic topping. Quite a nice cozy place where you can hang out.

RM$5 for a single flavor. I think its comparable to Lecca Lecca in KL. Its quite good actually, I've been there a few times.

But it melts really fast

And I'm abit dubious about their 'low-fat' claims.

it's not bad .... going for a scoop only is alng-alang ... at least two ... low-fat? ... maybe ... still, too sweet for some but i like it .... if u wanna eat slowly without it melting too fast, just go at night and sit indoors cos ada penghawa dingin ....

RM 5 for a scoop? The other day I went, it was RM 12 a scoop. Wanted to try, but the price was too hefty for our wallets.

Really too pricey... for that price can buy a whole tub of ice cream at a mart. It's just a posh way to eat ice cream, that's all.

To clarify a few things...

Price:
1 scoop - RM5
2 scoops - RM8
3 scoops - RM12

By default, it's served in a cup. If you want a cone, you have to ask for it (not recommended for more than one scoop or if you want to enjoy slowly).

If you're there with friends and RM5/person is too steep, get the 2 or 3 scoop cup to share. That's plenty if you're trying it out for the first time and works out to be much cheaper too.

One scoop looks too small? Don't get greedy. This isn't normal ice cream where 3 scoops is nothing. If you're having gelato for the first time, go for one scoop... unless you have an XXL sweet tooth like Silas.

Tip: Fruit flavours tend to be lighter than "creamy" flavours. You'll probably find lychee sorbet easier to finish than dark chocolate (<- this nearly ended me). There's less ice in gelato so the flavours are more intense.

They have one sugar-free flavour a day but you have to ask about it. The flavours they have for that is limited - vanilla, coffee, soya bean. This is safe for diabetics, as they are using a diabetic-safe sweetener (I forgot the name but can dig it up if required). Ironically, the one I tried turned out to be sweeter than normal flavours... GAH.

They serve 14 flavours a day, but in total they have nearly 70.

You can try a small sample if you're not sure you'll like the flavour.

Their gelato is made fresh everyday, in the genuine Italian way with either fresh or freeze-dried fruit, and real ingredients (instead of artificial flavours). The owners explained to me that they can't sell them any -cheaper-.

On the flip side, when they come up with some really exotic flavours with pricier than usual ingredients, they can't sell it for any more either. If you want to get your RM5 worth, order rum & raisin, or rocher, or honey dates (Ramadan only!), or something sounds expensive. ;P

Unfortunately for some of us, after trying gelato, we'll never go back to RM5-a-tub ice cream again. (Unless you dowse it liberally with baileys, eh Gab?)

I attach two other items on their menu: a mudslide (RM15, alcoholic) and a gelato sandwich (don't remember price). I also recommend the Mock Sangria (RM10) which is my current weakness.

Tarlia, if you said after one had a taste of Scoop gelato ice cream, one would never go back to RM5-a-tub ice cream? Well, in that case, I'll *never* try it - I'll be bankrupt in no time.

I'm unhealthily addicted to it.
