Businessman robbed and stabbed

By Jacob Achoi

KUCHING: A businessman in his 60s claimed he was stabbed during a robbery on Monday night.

Besides suffering about RM10,000 in losses he was also stabbed in the abdomen by the robbers, which happened at a budget hotel here about 9 pm.

In his police report, the victim said that two men in full-faced helmets, one armed with a knife and another a pistol, entered the room while he and a friend were discussing a land sale deal, and robbed him of his money.

In his struggle to prevent the robbers from getting hold of his money he was stabbed in the abdomen.

The injured man had to drive to the Sarawak General Hospital all by himself to get treatment.

His nightmare, however, did not stop there for he was beaten up again at the car park of the SGH.

He said, he however, managed to contact his son, who immediately rushed over and later helped him make a police report.

He is now in the hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, immediately after receiving a report, a police party rushed to the hotel and saw blood stain in the room where the victim was earlier attacked. They also found a pistol which turned out to be a toy.

The police have questioned the hotel’s operator to assist them with the investigation

...... Kuching is certainly not the SAFEST City.

My call is definately the indon illegal immigrants in Sarawak. (recently the authority discovered a 'lorong tikus' enable the indon ppl to cross over to Sarawak bypassing the checkpoint.

I hope the police will run a crackdown on illegal immigrants.

The hotel operator and those working there sounds a bit suss as well.

How would you not know when there is a robbery.

How would you not help someone who is being stabbed, with blood stains all over, and not call the police or emergency and let the victim drive by himself badly injured?

..the authorities concerned can control the imigrant problems to a high level if they puts in more efforts.it shouldnt be executed only when something bad happened to those related to the dato2. stringent control , before it becomes like what happened to K.K- just across the water is Pulau Gaya with all the illegal, kinda like a no-mans-land for the local.
