Also how good is casio? I got 2 friends using it and it looks kinda ok,but seriously, how good are they?!
Anything new from Cannon?

All cams work just fine

just go for whatever feature you like about a cam that is within your budget.

cannon?

Canon makes pretty good cameras, but they are not cheap.

Not a big fan of Panasonics, so I wouldn't comment on that.

Casio might looked good on the outside and I almost bought it once, but as soon as I tested it myself, I frustrate the hell outta me with it's slow as features.

My 1st digicam was a Canon, and it'll be my last! Will never switch. Get one that runs on lithium-ion. It's lightning fast!

you mean fast charging? lithium batt has more power and last longer, most digi cameras these day comes with lithium batt, unless you step ahead to prosumer, than you will start to use AA batteries.

Yes, all their SD series run on lithium and are really fast in virtually all respects. Only piff ...... red-eye reduction is < 100% effective. Their images are simply awesome. My A510 is as good today as when it was day 1. Has ALL the options for a newbie and pro. With speed & aperture priorities, images are never noisy, even at ISO as high as 200!

The Canon G7 is the one to get. Costs C$550, but truly worth it.

It cost more but still won't exceeds the price of the XD card!!

I bought the Sandisk Ultra II which is like 123456789X speed and is so much bloody skin ripping faster than the XD for less the price of XD cards.

And on top of that, SD cards are always on sale due to their popular demand.

Try the Ultra IV CF ones like my friends' :p. But good you chose Sandisk Ultra II, better that than some cheap China copy.

Well, price wise - unless you shoot 4 million photos a day, it's always the initial purchase that is expensive and nothing more, but then it's not like you have to buy new ones as soon as you fill it up, so the issue isn't as big a deal as some would make it out to be.

Even 24-in-1 card readers are now sold everywhere.

ian, where did u find the FE230 listed RM699 in the town? i read the newspaper got Olympus promotion, is listed at RM899 free 1gb?

My apologies for the misinformation. There's a shop outside my office and I took a glance at it and saw the wrong price. (Their tags are arranged in a confusing manner). It's supposed 899 as was stated here. My bad.

I'll double check my facts next time.

When I go to Autosalon or Motorshows, I normally carry with me at least 4GB worth of memory cards, 10 pieces of 2700mh AA Rechargable batteries which is why, to me memory card capacity : price is very very important to me.

Sandisk Ultra came up with a one piece 8gb SD and CF, cool, but not for XD, yet

Then again, isn't this topic for the casual user, not power enthusiast?
