Last time I was there was years and years ago when I was still little.

Its was quite nice back than. Quite crowded cause it was school holidays. Got toilets and canteen.

But my mum and dad called us all out of the water cause they spotted a snake slithering into the water.

And that was the last time I was there.

Name sounds familiar and vaguely remember having been there, but where is it? Anywhere in the vicinity of Matang, or am I logistically lost?

What's that? And as for negligence - that's typical isn't it.

It's in Serian. Last time, that place was just for playing with river water, just like matang family park. Now it has places for people to stay overnight at, but I'm not sure about how the accomodation looks like. Haven't been there for ages too

Ranchan pool - paradise lost?

I'm rather disappointed that they didn't put my second article up, the one where I spoke to the Secretary of the Serian District Council about all this.

I think it's because the internet version is a limited release. It was a full pager by itself in last sunday's paper.

In a nutshell, there's very limited manpower the council can dedicate to Ranchan Pool. He also asks that the public not vandalise the park. They can only fix the more immediate issues, but major structural changes will only happen when they get some funds from the government.

At the end of the day, the answer to every questions comes down to budget!

That aside, I think it's worth visiting if you go early in the morning before too many people's trampled around in there. There's also an old abandoned powerstation up on the hill that I want to explore and photograph more thoroughly.
