It does look like salary rate in Kuching had increase? in Kuching, your boss will most likely retain your current salary amount.. you won't get a raise and he will get more profit. Once you try to resign and he does the sweet talk raise you abit of gaji trying to bribe you to stay. As what i learned in my management course. Boss will always do their best to retain employees. in bigger corporate company, each time a employee leaves, the company will need to spend extra $$$ to find new replacement. - $$$ to find new employee (through agency, outsourcing, advertising) - New employee being new and unproductive. (company will slow down) - $$$ to send employee for training etc etc. So there you can see, if you're working for 2 or more years in a company with good performance. Your boss will retain you at all cost. Therefore, if your boss do not raise your gaji like you think he should, go find another job with better offer. Someone with less experience will take your place and the cycle repeats.

just now i edit the article again.. pls delete those sensitive sentences again. lol. well half wrong half right... the 1 they offer din't put much specification ba some of it.. like the one i saw in boeneo post last week they put RM3k salary for graphic designer. din specify any requirements but amount oni. btw, I worked in an advertising firm (very small company) 4 about 1.5 years & never pun got any raise on the day / after i tender my letter. within that month, he kept on mentioning and persuade me 2 stay. but never mentioned about raise....now i end myself in sg & earn 40% more of my previous work in kch.. some foreign company might consider to offer higher due 2 industry standards that 1 i agree :] ![]()

switching jobs is what makes the job industry competitive. more experience employees as they shift to different company. Company happy to get good employees.. and employees happy get good salary.lol

i think basically its the same applied to all countries ... if you want hih salary... go japan loh they got very high salary so do sg nearest to malaysia but then... high salary - high expenses? ermm its the same in the end... just that we can earn more money at overseas because of their exchange rate

True Facts
My friend a Degree holder is Business and Adminstration is getting paid at RM 600 only without allowance. No increment was given when she pass her probation. Then she jump to another company who is offering her RM800 without allowance. This is life in kuching.

Amber, if u still cant find a job in kuching for another month or two, i suggest you go to brunei or singapore to work. eventhough u work hard u will be satisfied with the salary they pay
