Four Points by Sheraton to operate TPK's hotel? Well, I'll welcome that. About time Holiday Inn gets some competition in that segment of the market. Four Points here in Sydney is quite good.
Though, here's another question. Is Four Points managing both the former-Ming Kiong Garden and City Centre properties? Anyway, back to topic, Tune Hotels to operate opposite the Hilton? I'm wondering, which will they acquire? I do remember a few empty plots, but overall, Taman Sri Sarawak is pretty well occupied. I'm in agreement with Edgar. Let's see what happens and if all our speculations are even close. I'm sure sources close to Air Asia must be sniggering at all our rumours, speculations and suggestions.

well, we'll just wait and see.
Nobody thought easy-Group of Companies would be as successful as they are today. But they did. Nobody even thought that no-frills air travels would make a sen in Malaysia, but they did. So why not?

and if they managed to squeeze in airport-city direct transportation, there is no doubt they are winning.
And in regards to the location, I think it is sweet, such a great spot, close to everything you need to go in the city. Someone please build something at the abandoned corner lot, it is so fking ugly.

well in kuching (and i'm pretty sure everywhere else in the whole of Malaysia) one can find other budget hotels (1 or 2 stars) at around RM60 with standard hotel amenities (aircon included), so I wander what is the fuss with Tune Hotel. vhhotels even got promotion rate as low as RM20 (with full hotel amenities, ie, towel, aircon and toiletries and buffet breakfast!!!!).

I think Tune Hotels will not be opening here yet cause no mention of Kuching in the upcoming location on the latest edition of the scream out.

Either:
a) let's not trust what the Air Asia group of companies mention whenever they say Kuching, considering it's 1 year down the line and we're still waiting for Kuching-Bangkok/Jakarta and still no news, or b) they have problems acquiring land and facilities, and need to push back the opening. Still a little disappointed by them. They mentioned Kuching would be next after KL, then said it'll be located in the city, then they said it'll be near the airport and now, it's not even in DMPY's newsletter.
