Rumah Dayak is being built by the SDNU, not the government. Do not get the two mixed up.

This is being built from contributions from SDNU members, the government only supplies a small grant each year, as they do in the annual budgets, for non-governmental organisations.

Was supposed to be built and run by Crystal Realty, if I recall correctly.

rumah dayak currently is an eyesore. @_@
with the crane up there doing nothing. they ought to get into malaysia book of record for being the longest construction ever held. it takes longer than KLCC or maybe Bakun project.

they shud give the contract to Ting Pek Kiing and you will see a new building tomorrow. lol

its the matter of financial constraint i believe.. not because the contractor cant do it fast..

at least they do something but just a bit slow..give them time and the union to collect more money, they will complete it..by the way, are they rent @ sold the office lot?if they rent they will have problm with starting capital to build it but if they sell, things will go better..

10 years is way too much time to construct a small building. What were they actually thinking when they decided to demolish the building flat to the ground and they have no budget planning to reconstruct the building? Demolish First and Think Later plan?

Budget constraint you say? perhaps, they buy brick by brick and hire bangla men on "per day basis" ?

The more the project is prolong, the more rugi they get.

I would say its a bad project management skill. There is no one to follow up on the project. they are not being pressure in anyway to finish the project. SDNU is responsible for the project but "who" exactly is responsible and assigned to handle the project?

I don't see any reason for them to take more than 10 years to reconstruct the building. If any problem occurred. solve it right to the end.

Budget problem? there is always bank loan and they can calculate the benefit or the Return on Investment thing. Or since they're a Bumi union, most likely they can get all the help they need.
