That still doesn't make them non-existant.

In my 4 years in Oz, I've encountered many racist incidents.

My Korean classmate was beaten up by Caucasian youths who thought his eyes were looking at them "too slanted".

2 girlfriends and I were accosted by HIGH SCHOOL kids whose leader accused my friend as 'the Mainland whore who stole her boyfriend'. It was a case of mistaken identity, because we Asians 'all look the same'. The funny thing was, my friend's a 2nd generation Aussie and she's not even Chinese.

Gang fights involving Asians are always 'ASIAN'. It's never specified what race (usually it's the Vietnamese or the Hongkies), so it made the entire Asian population look bad.

Generally, Aussies are friendly and nice people. But in all nice societies, you have the minority of bad apples. Just have to be careful.

She now holds the position as a Senate and Australia's first Minister of Climate Change and Water. Senator Penny Wong, foo-chow if I am not mistaken, and is the only senator for South Australia.

She will be in charged of the most high-anticipated climate change policy ever implement in this country, ratify the Kyoto's protocol and to solve the water crisis in the state and most part of Australia.
