...WHILE DRIVING.

For split microseconds, the driver of the car on the opposite road suddenly vanishes. His/her car swings ever so slightly to the dotted line dividing your lane and theirs. Then he/she reappears again, and you can see they desperately tries to get their car back on track. *phew* That was close!

Well... 'disappear'? Why?

Possible reasons...
1. Something drops and they try go grab hold of it.
2. Groping for stuff in their bags/handbags (which they conveniently put on their car floor), most likely their mobile phones.
3. etc.

EVER COME ACROSS THIS?

I HAVE. MANY TIMES, IN FACT.

And it's frikkin ANNOYING not to mention SCARY. It doesn't only involve female drivers ok (although I hear males saying they usually encounter female drivers doing that). I see guys too.

Can't they just stop by the roadside instead of trying to be a stuntman/woman while driving?

I have seen a woman turning her head while the car is still moving to check on her kids at the back seat. WTF, .. What's the rearview mirror for??

Some Kuching drivers......

They don't want to waste time to stop beside the road while they can talk and drive at the same time.

Heee...sorry...I do that sometimes, particularly in Kuching. Call on speaker phone, phone falls in between legs, crouch down, then back up again.

Worse: Laptop on passenger's seat, do some work, look away for a while, back to road.

Common: red light, pop to the back seat and back to the front seat.

Though I must say, I rarely if ever swerve on the road, no matter what happens in the car.

No kidding, I do it sometimes if I have too much work and too little time and need to be in ten places at once.

I've seen laptop users on buses, you see laptop users on planes, you see laptop users in cabs, in the trains and at one point, the KLIA Express looked like an office with people pounding laptops and barking orders on their phones; and now you see laptop users while driving.

I only check powerpoint stuff in the car if I drive, if there's a driver, then it'll be my mobile office. Don't worry, I don't write entire documents, I can't see the 12pt type from the driver's seat that well.

I've spilled a pack of cheezels in my car when i was driving and that was nearly a disaster.

But I think stopping suddenly when you are driving by the side of a busy road is inviting more trouble. Just wait until you get somewhere safe before stopping the car.

And you actually have to turn to look at kids because the rear view mirror does not show the entire back seat. I have a 5 year old sister and I always need to turn back to check on her
