Hello all,

I passed by the Old Miramar Cinema today and I passed by also last week and saw there are some renovation work in progress.

Anyone know whats are they going to do with the building?
Actually the building been keep nicely (from out side can see that but not sure inside). And I am doubting it maybe a Disco or Supermarket. Not too sure until anyone of you can provide information whats going on with that building.

1) location not strategic for a cinema
2) been there for 8-10 years without operating, now what are they up to?

Wasn't there a kareoke or something there, after the cinema closed down? I remember the place having a very nice auditorium, quite comfy, with carved columns framing the screen. Perhaps it'll be turned into a performing arts centre? A live theater?

Open Zouk in a Malay majority area? Wasn't there a ruling from either DBKU or somewhere which stated that no alcohol can be sold in Malay majority areas?

Zouk is overrated though; but Kuching does indeed need proper nightlife facilities with music which is constantly updated, not playing House music from 2002-2005.
