Here is contradiction you can normally see in a newspaper Borneo Post. 16 April 2008.

On the 1st top column, you have the SUPP women making some statement or remark about the rising crime rate.

Lily Eu, the SUPP publicity secretary of Kuching Branch Women Section question what is the police doing, "They gathered crime statistics but what do they intend to do with them? The crimes commited are getting more serious and life threatening but what are the police doing?"

Then on the 2nd column, the newspaper makes it looks like the Police made a respond to it with a title line

"Number of break-ins robberies declining: Cops"

and on the 3rd column underneath ,

"PKR calls for more police station , 'pondoks"

Hmmm...perhaps it goes like this:

1) robberies are becoming more serious and deadly to residents;

2) but the incidents, while it may be growing, is less than before, just that reporters report more of the news nowadays;

3) and as such, to improve security, if the crime rate is high or not, we need more police stations.

Or maybe this is just a new form of journalism, taking into account all the perspectives? Or perhaps just a joke to make us all go 'ahh...'

The irony of it all is that the biggest robber of them all is featured nearly 7 days a week on the front page. That's the joke.
