Plz let me know the where is the starting point of the foot hill( Name) ? Do we need to pay?
Do they offer proper parking, i do not wish to park my car at the rd side unattended.
i heard there is a short cut you can cut throught without going through the starting point, any1 know the locality ?

Free to hike up the mountain, there is proper parking. Just look for the 'Jungle Lookout' lodge. It should be around halfway between the junction to Santubong village and the Damai resorts.

The starting point is where you park your car, at the small restaurant/lookout. There should be a huge sign that says 'Santubong Climb' or something to that effect.

There are two trails, one red and one blue. The shortcut, and I could be mistaken, is just downhill from the 'D-A-M-A-I' signs and right before the signpost that says 'Damai Resorts.'

Yea the shortcut starting point is near the then-seafood-restaurant-now-turned-haunted. You can park your car at the paved area there.

after the haunted house, a bit further, there's a small road down the hill on the left. I've climbed Santubong twice, and I've parked by car there both times. Fortunately nothing has happened YET.

The haunted house is within walking distance from the other entrance with parking and cafe, and the walk if not mistaken, is downslope one, so is quite easy. You can treat the walk as a "warming up".

Jungle lookout point is nearer to Damai Beach and the cafe with parking is opposite the Santubong suite. am i correct ?

there should be a signboard. there's a group doing climbing Sunday. you should be able to spot entrance & park car at the road side. no charges... yeah...

The scenery are awesome from the mountain. Really nice but the sad thing is the facilities are really torn down, especially the route nearing the summit where the ladders are not well kept. Be caution about that.
