Hohoho, just watched this. very good. All the while waiting for Sylar to cut people up. Or Harold to say something funny or stupid.. kekeke... catch this for the special effect of a planet imploding.

I saw it twice. First the premiere, and then for a lunch time treat. Yes, I am a Trekkie. Got into a 'fight' with a friend because I did not bring him, a fellow Trekkie, to the premiere.

I think this will be a successful franchise. new story line for new generation audience. enjoyed the same punchline though: "Live long & be prosper", "Beam me up scotty" etc... & cute "dog" too...

Star Trek always had a loyal fanbase; hence the concept of the 'Trekkie.' Though, admittedly, JJ Abrams was clever in creating a clean slate to restart the franchise. What better way than to create a 'parallel universe' where everything we knew or expected has changed. I am looking at this with anticipation.

And I noticed quite a few of JJ Abram's previous projects: the red ball/Circumference from 'Alias,' the red 'Cloverfield' monster, the 'Heroes' eclipse in the end credit; and of course there was 'Slusho' from Cloverfield.

Cloverfield? No wonder those beasts looked so familiar & the bad guy spaceship looks like Transformer.
