hello all the kitties..

i am planning to get a DSLR here. and i am new to DSLR. i hope you guys can give me some advice on the cameras?

i did some research and found out that most (96%) of the thing are the same for D5000 n D90. seems like D5000 has got more on board features (editing) compare to D90. but D5000 is cheaper. i am not too sure what did i missed out. i know the compatibility of lenses is part of the main thing. but other than that i do not see much difference.

can some one more experience let me know what other thing that i might have miss out here..

Thanks.

I am personally using D90. which I do recommend that range. The price had drop and its around RM2450 (i bought RM3k for it 3 months ago). Its a good bargain now.

Although the features are 96% the same. but the one thing that kills the whole thing is the lens range which can be use on D5000.

Ask any D40 or D40x users who are into photography for at least a year or two. they will tell you their regrettable experience in buying a body which has less compatible lens.

You might ended up buying some expensive lens which is meant for D5000 range of body.

I think D5000 cannot use certain type of lens like 50mm f1.4.

Go for D90 la, big apple. haha

Canon 550D is good too.

Please go for D90... personally I own a D80 and it's pretty good enough in terms of controls. But one thing that's different between D80 and D90 is the color palatte. Mine are more on figures and temperature. Most lenses are compatible.

Go for Canon 7D -> magnesium body and feels like a Nikon.
