I believe certain public transportation ticketing & pricing system from sydney or london can be adopted in kuching, for example, usage of pay cards (10x swipes).

and also the ferry/river taxi's docks as of darling harbour

boats as that of tokyo (http://www.jon-schmid.com/misc/2005-0 ... tt/mid/2005-05-08_005.jpg) can be adopted too. i would suggest at least 1 or 2 futuristic water taxi, and ranges of other fleets that carries ranges of unique & symbolic culuturally-infused sarawakian/org ulu/iban/melanau/bidayuh/chinese/malay/english designs on each water taxi/river boats.

Population in Kuching still cannot meet the market expectation, local ppl like to use own transport to gain the traveling time. Public transportation company very hard to grow BIG with what ever services that possible. If Kch like Penang or KL or JB head count, then i think all those mention earlier may be possible.

typical eg: taxi services..... worst amount asia.

I won't compare Kuching's transportation facility with big and vibrant cities like Tokyo and Hong Kong. Basically it's not required. Just a picture that can't fit into the frame.

I am still looking for a good map.

I think Malaysia govt make a mistake selling those Kancil car. They should make cars not affortable so people can take the public transport!

Look at the traffic jam we got now.

Go see the old Kuching pasat. The shophouse are built so near to the road. There is no room for expansion.

I think you don't realise the situation here. That's the reason why Bus Rapid Transit is approved in Kuching.
