Chong dares Taib to contest in Kuching
Sunday, 03 October 2010 20:45

KUCHING – Kuching MP Chong Chieng Jen is challenging Chief Minister Abdul Taib Mahmud to contest in Kuching.

In a press conference yesterday, Chong said Taib should not "hide" in rural areas like Balingian but instead contest in the state capital as it is only fitting for a Chief Minister to do so.

“Why hide in the rural areas with only a few thousand voters. Come to Kuching. The DAP is inviting you,” he said.

Chong said there are five state seats in Kuching that Taib could choose from.

All the five seats were contested under SUPP in the 2006 election. Chong said he believed that SUPP would be willing to swap a seat with Taib for the rural area.

This I must see! Interesting news indeed!

I can already see the retort from whatever 'mouthpiece' Lord White Hair will use:

Quote:
SUPP is assigned urban areas, 'matured' areas; while PBB et al has to help the 'rakyat' in the hinterland. That is how a coalition works.

Then again, since the 'rakyat' has his 'backing,' he shouldn't have anything to fear, now should he? Or does he? Will be watching this with great anticipation!

he'll probably come up with a convenient excuse about how he should remain in the rural areas...followed by a condescending retort to chong about how immature he is is to be throwing down a challenge

example of retort:

"do you think politics is like the playground back in secondary school? want to challenge challenge see who stronger. chong is acting like a schoolboy and a bully..challenging people to see who is stronger. he is being immature and i, as chief minister, shall not stoop to his childish challenge."

or something like that.
