system to run longhorn without lag will probably need to be 4ghz or more and have about 1024mb of ram. wati and see..
Andrew^... the file system in longhorn is known as WinFS windows file system. it is built ontop of the existing NTFS system. WinFS will work on any HDD cos a HDD b4 format is just an empty storage.. when u format then it becomes fat or ntfs. well nothing to worry cos microsoft will make backward compatibility for this OS to access ntfs. check out this site on WinFS...might be abit technical Windows Page

Hmmm.... Microsoft won't make such a stupid decision... releasing an OS nobody can support. They want to make money afterall. You wait and see... maybe new processors and RAM then will be a lot cheaper for this purpose.

yeah for sure microsoft will do someting about it.. i wonder if it can run PS2..on the comp with that kind of system and requirements.. ahahaha would be nice though.. add a plasma Monitor with that OS systemm..

i saw the platform being tested while i was in lowyat plaza, KL. and also at my previous work enviroment where they tested out longhorn to manage server queries.
 cool stuff. kinda looks like linux though

As far as I am concerned and I am not very sure about this, i was told by the salesman before i decide on buying my laptop last year, "if you want to buy a laptop, i suggest you get any laptop with a widescreen (as opposed to square), because the next generation Windows OS, the Longhorn only works with widescreen"
Yeah right, so, go out and get yourself a widescreen as of now :D , kidding.
