I am so happy it is coming back.

Now I can go play football at the St Thomas school padang and eat there.

I use to eat KFC alot at the Kuching plaza.

When is opening day?

i just don't know whether all the former tenants will be back there.
since it was closed down in around 2005-2006.

most of the tennats have long moved out.

It's a big risk re-opening this plaza, especially when Merdeka Plaza is opening soon - end of this year if I'm not mistaken. People will flock to Merdeka Plaza that's for sure.

perhaps, kch plaza will regain its glory....for students.

waa...vely nostalgic lah . i remembered i crashed gate masuk on the 3rd day of opening Kuching Plaza during the 80's

hehe.... vely song lah and excited ! during those days only got Electra House for us to lepak2 on Friday(TGIF lah) so with Kch Plaza opening,it was the talk of the town man .i didnt go there on the 1st day,only on the 3rd day and bila sampai sana,we were very sakai and run up and down the escalator. Million electrical shop were 1 of the pioneer there. the upper top most floors never got any responces even untill the day tutup also nobody bother to rent(fung shui reason i think).St Thomas kids are the most over there after school(sort of "control" the place there). Kch plaza also the best place to "hide" or main ponteng . i hope the new opening be filled with interesting businesses or shops and of coz - good eateries

Yes, Kuching Plaza is very nostalgic. It was first openend sometime in 1981 (31 years aga) and true ... it installed the first escalator in Kuching (perhap in Swak). Still remember the Kuching Supermarket (with symbol "K" in green color) and the best of it, its Sugarbun selling chicken fried + mash potato, coleslaw at RM2.40 per plate compare to now RM8++ ..
