i sure hope standards are high. but this is a good way to see new bands, hear new sounds and give these bands some much needed exposure as far as experience is concerned. looking forward to it actually.

I"m hoping that the standards are high too...but I know too well that normally, it isn't going to be...so I won't get my hopes up too high. =P

but the idea for this event is to give all these local bands a chance. if no one give them the opportunity, how are they going to gain experience and exposure? i'm pretty sure there are good ones amongst those participants. it's just a matter of sifting through them. so i think it's about time these bands gets an outlet to show themselves to be heard. trying to make it big in KL is not easy. KL alone has too much competition. why can't sarawak, the biggest state in malaysia, generate its own music industry?

have a little faith. this may be a small step for now but at least it's the first step.

besides, don't you think it's ironic that the Tribute to Sarawak concert has no sarawakian artistes performing in it?

The only good musician that I can think of to have come out of Sarawak is Jason Lo.

Does anyone here know his background? He's a Kuchingite, but haven't been able to get much info about him.

Jason Lo used to be great when he first came out but now not so. but these days he's mostly behind-the-scenes or hosting shows and all.

Juliet the Orange was also a pretty good group that sadly has gone extinct (although they are not Sarawakian).

I don't think Juliet the Orange is good. but that's just me. When they were still Brodwyn (before they changed name), they were good. Brodwyn was more goth.

Btw, you a fan of Sandman?

and oh, anyone went to the LOTB roadshow at Amphitheatre today? how was the performance by 5 of the contesting bands showcased today?
