I would like to point out the issue of maintenance in most of the tourist spot in Sarawak. Mostly WERE greatly developed and created and erected, but mostly ARE not greatly maintained. What a total let down seeing the popular tourist destination or landscapes which are now famous for being dirty, not maintained and not very hygenic.
In any other country, maintenance comes first all above any other consideration.

Lol, can you see the dirt that is building up in the cat statues? is it even that hard to ask someone to wash them once a week?
I can understand tear and wear effects on the erected strutures of most tourist desitnation but they are not hard to get replaced either, not like as if they were accient historical buildings and there is need to preserve the original structure. Most obviously, please wash the public toilets thank you very much. I dont want to pay RM0.20 for a dirty, smelly, dark toilets, I am good if they are free, not to pay for something that they dont even deserves

You can point out specificly which public toilet is not maintained properly. Do list them out here so others may aware of it.
As far as I know, most of the public toilets are maintained. Examples like the waterfront, or the one behind electra house. or the one near the Tabuan jaya market. The ones that are not maintained is the food court's toilet. those are not under the goverment. If you're talking about buildings not maintained and structures that are not maintained. I might agree with you on that one. Civic centre roof is turning green in color due to the rain and shine weather. Quote:
which building up in the cat statues? and we only got 2 cat statues .. which one you are refering to?

"....pay more tax.." oh man, dont anyone start the age old arguement again. We are all well educated enough about this issue here about rates paid, so if we were to start a debate on it, I am pretty sure we all know it is endless. Hence, if the ministers were to 'sacrifice' more, then we would live a better life.

There was actually a building that the council finally decided to preserve, I think was the Lebaonese building or something like that? Opposite the Kuching General Post Office, where the used to held the Malaysian Idol audition. To me, that the nicest place at the moment :)
