Anyone got experience with tortoise as home pets?

Care to share some information about the maintenance of these cute creatures?

You need get water change regularly. Feed them once everyday and do get notice when you change their water, clean their shell and try to touch them whether if they are hard or soft. If it's hard, they are very healthy and if it's soft, take more attention to it. Water condition is very important. May cause them blind as well.

Erm, you know the type with high shells?! Cost about RM100 each? Those are low maintenance. Bear in mind, that type of tortoise MUST not get contact with water and just left them with vegetables to eat. They get all their vitamin and protein through the vegetables. They do not need to drink water as I said, they get everything from what they've eaten. They can be very huge too! Trust me and nice in design for their shells. But expensive... >.<

Hahaha... Freshwater long-necked turtles! Damn, I hate them as you catch them, they have a very long neck that will try to reach to your fingers and bite you. Arghh.... >.<

Oh my...suddenly pedigree cats and Paris Hilton dogs don't seem so bad now. What happened to keeping them in an aquarium and feeling them cabbages?

But I often see people sell by the roadside, dead ones.
