Cawangan baru Carrefour

But hey......its 2 years time.
That time Novatel Hotel, Plaza Merdeka also complete soon.
According to infro, it says "merancang" to open their 1st outlet in Sabah & Sarawak, so that will be still a doubt i guess...
We wait & see la, hope their price are all the same nationwide.
We in East Malaysia a bit "rugi" la compare to West, everthing here being mark up.

They mentioned "merancang untuk membuka cawangan pertama di Sabah dan Sarawak yang dijangka dilaksanakan dalam tempoh dua tahun lagi" and I just can't shake this feeling that it could refer to just a store for both states. For all we know, they could just be planning one in KK, or Miri, or Kuching; thus fulfilling the 'pertama di Sabah dan Sarawak.'

Good news it is, but this is just a proposed plan, and West Malaysians are notorious for proposed plans for Sabah and Sarawak, and until now, PanGlobal has yet to release any more details on their 'proposed hotel, serviced apartment and commercial complex on prime riverfront land in Kuching.'

So, until they mention 'first store in Sarawak' and it comes with a concrete, definite press release, I'll just pass this on to the side. Carrefour was rumoured to be coming in since 2002, as was Tesco, yet this is 2008, and the only big one to step in is Cold Storage.

It's just talk..... that has yet to materialize.... so, don't be too excited about it.

Carre4 would be a good start for equal opportunity competition in Sarawak. which means some of the monopoly and over charge business will have to close shop.

HAHAHA......I'm already doubtful about Carrefour coming here... and you want IKEA?? We still have a long way to go before hitting one-million population (IKEA's usual policy to set up in a particular city).. so I guess it's a looong wait before we ever see IKEA here..
