Here is a very annoying thing when ppl go to Kuching airport waiting to pickup someone people.

You stop by the side of the arrival lane outside. Not obstructing the traffic at all. Then the stupid police (who are probably following instructions) go and sound the siren and asking you to move.

You had to move or they will give you a ticket. Then you make one whole round burning fuel. Then went back to the same spot behind their back.

They moved a bunch of cars, all those cars went back to the same spot just further back to hide themselves from the police, turning off headlights or engines.

How stupid can they be in managing the traffic?

I respect the police for doing so, they are trying to maintain order around the terminal areas. Those areas are for picking up passengers only, if every one start to park there then people really intending to pick up and go will not be able to do so.

But on the other hand, the KIA should have done better with their parking. Having to walk few hundred metres to your parked car under a hot tropical sun is no fun at all, more so when you have to enter a vehicle parked for half an hour under such condition. Even worse when it rains heavily. The should at least put some sort of roofing and connecting shaded pedestrian between the car park and terminal building. Have they done so, I believe most people will prefer to park their cars and spend some time in the air conditioned terminal building. And probably spend 5 to 10 Ringgits on coffee, etc.

I do respect them for controlling the traffic but I hope they can do their work with some common sense.

Those who stick closest to the side of the road SHOULD be OK.
For those who came late and stick on the second lane should be get rid off.

I suppose they are also looking at it from a security point of view, just in case some joker decides to do something funny to the airport. You know what I mean.

i agree that the police doing that. just imagine if the police doesn't care. all the ppl would pile up by the pick up area, even up to 2-3 lanes! looks like something at st joseph's school already. jz imagine tourist come down to kch 1st time and seeing all the mess.

on the other hand, it is for safety as well. jz imagine some silly fella got blocked by another car and accidents can happen. u know how kiasu ppl n kuching nowadays.

well, if the police doesn't do the job, ppl would say "ah police jz sit down and do nothing".

Then its up to Malaysia Airports Berhad to improve its car park and parking system so that people would park their cars rather than do a one round turn. Simplest thing they can do is probably allow a first 10 minutes free parking.

From a driver / airline passenger's perspective, one of the thing I hated the most is the drastic change of temperature from the really cool / sometimes freezing cold terminal to the scorching hot carpark / inside of cars. As a driver picking up my relatives, I will try to keep my car aircon cool until my passengers arrive. So if there is a spot on the pick-up zone I'd probably utilize it or just stay in the car with aircon on, unless if the ETA is still a while then I would just hang out at terminal.

People shall not park their car at the arrival entrance driveway and wait for the person that they are picking up. There are a huge car park just outside the airport and why all jam at the entrance and cause inconvenient to other users. and beside it is illegal. Having to pay for the car park is not an excuse.

so, if ETA is delayed ?? my car park payment also delayed ??

even after the money is well spent to develop tourist spot , then we talk about airport management ....

the root cause is not solved, but we try to solve the peripheral ... very stupid indeed .....

look at singapore airport , changi .. voted the best how many times already .... singapore with no real mineral resources can be so high-tech, mindset so different

build a subway bridge / overhead sheltered bridge from carpark ?? the money comes from who ?? dream on lah , fellow residents ....

in sarawak, the place that should be preserved becoming deforestated .. the place should be high-tech like in an airport is not well developed 5 stars .. then we said ," better than last time lah" ...

the police in the airport has made a good job chasing away vehicles .. " better than no patrol ma " ... they make 3 lanes ?? why not 4 or 5 lanes ?? more lanes, more people can park by the side .. thus parking management cannot earn money .... now everywhere parking also needs money .. become a STANDARD already ... but welfare workers never become STANDARD ...
