how do you teach A-Z to a kindgergarten kid...

this question was pop up by a friend of mine who is now working part time as a kindergarten teacher. Kids nowadays seems not really able to absorb these very easily. Unlike what we are last time.

Generations has change.. and so as the people..

So how? how to teach? any idea?

Should not be that hard.

Use colourful alphabets, big big summore LOL... A for apple, show apple to them and the alphabets too. Play a game with it.

More advance use computer, i'm sure many children nowadays like computer, ask them to get to know the letters on the keyboard and type it.

Yup, agree with Lovebell. Ask them to colour in a picture of "A", "B" and so on. Challenge them every day, "A for what?" and praise them when they get it right.

The problem now..
they can't recite A-Z

give them ABCDE
then next thing they distorted the whole arrangement.. :haih:

first i suggested

ABCDE (part1)
FGHIJ (part2)
KLMNO (part 3)
PQRSTU (part 4)
VWXYZ (part 5)

i suggested that way.. but then she told me..
it didn't work well...

Guan, bo pien... this one have to learn slowly. There's no hard and fast rule. Some kids learn slower than others. That's why being a kindergarten teacher requires huge dollops of PATIENCE. Ngaiti. Something which I don't have.

I guess your friend have to repeat everyday till they get it right. Maybe she can organize a group test... whoever gets it right gets a present.

We got proffesionals kindergarten advisors talking right here. Hehehe. I have no ideas to teach kids. I am afraid of kid aged 3-10. I am so afraid.
Kids nowadays overtake adults pride. Encountered alot myself, worst that I can't be mad at them. Their parents never teach them how to behave, so who am I to teach them. I see kids whos talkative I siam jauh jauh. :haih:

Teach them by using the song loh. Sound something like this.....ABCDEFG.....HIJKLMNOP.....
Which we always sang during our kindergarten age.....

Guan guan, use the ABC song u ever send to me before... kakakakakaka...

Dun force the innocent kid lar, they are not born to learn ABCDE, but they should enjoy their life.

Problem is not with the kid, problem is with those adult who design the game called "E-D-U-C-A-T-I-O-N"

I don't really remember that the kids back then got any trouble having to learn A-Z.

Kids nowadays seems harder to teach and handle..
The parents are neglecting the kid's needs.. Put them to be handle by the kakak. Then make their life occupied by tuitions and classes. There isn't any time for "home lessons" and "human value lesson"

Sharon I do agree with you those kids btw 3-10, i'm really afraid of them hahaha.

The easiest is to sing ABC, sing it everyday together with the action and so on, if A lift A up so on and so forth.
