How do you introduce new fishies into your aquarium that already has lots of old fishies in there?

When u bought the fish..
i am sure its still in the transparent plastic bag..

so what you do.. u just put the whole thing in the aquarium without untieing the bag...

Put it floating there for like 20-30 mins..
Let it get used to the enviroment..
and then released it~

Lovebell, what "old" fish you have and what "new" fish you have? And how often do you change the water? If once every week, I don't see a fault. If once every two weeks or more, your "new" fish suffered from shock. That's because the water is too different.

And what's the gallon size of your tank? Is it the one I saw at your house? How many "old fish" were there and how many "new" fish you put in? This is a very crucial thing because you might be overcrowding your tank. Even with aeriation (however you might spell that) the fish cannot live. A good rule of thumb is an inch of fish per gallon, but that only applies to most tropical fish. Goldfish works better with 2-3 inch per gallon.

hm...

from what i learn from Discovery Channel.

it's very hard to intro new (especially) small fish into ur aquarium with big fish in it. Coz fish are like other creature, are teritorial and sure one of the big fish will act as BOS.

hope u understand what i'm trying to said

Originally 3 goldfish.

1st time were guppies... obviously the goldfish fought with it coz their tail got bitten off. One died(its tail hurt), then the next day another one, on the same day, the last one "commited suicide" coz my mom forgot to close the lid after transfering to a new place.

2nd time 2 new goldfish, became 5 goldfish.
Virce, that's the tank you saw. I'm assuming the two new goldfish suffered shocked.

jsawkang, I know what u mean :)\I know that too...

Hahahaha... they are very "ngiau" one and also like to "sa jiaw"... They are very picky eater, sometimes have to "punish" them by not giving them any food until they finished the food given before.

Very "tam jiak" hahaahha... just put ur hand above the water, they tot u're giving food to them even try to "eat" ur hand.
